International Training

International Accredited Training programs done by internationally acclaimed leaders and tutors. A joint venture program organized & conducted by Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation, European Training Team, England, ADR Chambers (UK) Ltd., England and Hamline University School of Law, USA etc

The training offers participants the chance to train to international standards so that they can be ready in all respects to accept instructions to act to resolve disputes not only between local parties, but also international and national companies who expect and require facilitative resolution. The training combines the theory of ADR with a practical “hands-on” approach to the latest developments in negotiation, mediation, meeting facilitation etc. The program will enhance the understanding and ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts, as well as provide a solid foundation in ADR processes and to serve as ADR practitioners and neutrals. The program examines the skills, constraints and dynamics of the negotiation process in the context of international business transactions. Through discussions, simulations and role-play, this course focuses on the structure and goals of the mediation process and on the skills and techniques mediators use to aid parties in overcoming barriers to dispute resolution. The course also examines the underlying negotiation orientations and strategies which mediators may confront and employ; the roles of attorneys and clients; dealing with difficult people and power imbalances and ethical issues for lawyers and mediators. After initially focusing on the work of mediators, the course also will critically examine different approaches to effective mediation representation. Participants will be introduced to practical tools used by international mediators and advocates to deal with the process, psychological and merits-based obstacles that can cause bargaining deadlocks in the context of international business relationships. With presentations by representatives from the world’s most prestigious ADR organizations, the program provides a systematic and comprehensive exposure that allows participants to expand their ADR horizons beyond the courtroom and the framework of structured negotiations. It permits them to participate in a new and exciting dimension of law practice giving a central role in the process of private adjudication and justice. Special emphasis is given for International Mediator training, Workplace mediation training, Family mediation training and Mediation advocacy.

** This course is not a regular program and is offered by IIAM on Institutional or group request.
