Although all are equal before the law, in practice some seem to be more equal than others, and this results in the denial of easily available opportunities to access justice.
IIAM offers free Legal-aid to represent in mediations and arbitration for persons, eligible for the same. Free mediation services are also available for family disputes and disputes of similar nature.
To be eligible, you must live in areas where IIAM have centres and your income must be below our economic guidelines. These economic guidelines may not apply if:
- You are over 60
- You have been a victim of housing discrimination
- You are living in domestic violence
If you meet our guidelines, IIAM may provide you with legal advice and/or legal aid. Legal advice is simply oral or written advice. Legal aid means representation by a lawyer in your ADR matter or effecting a mediation service.
